Christmas arrives with a touch of magic at the Monumental Complex of San Giovanni in Catanzaro. For an entire month, from 12 December to 12 January, the container of the historic center will come alive with lights, colors and many activities designed to make children, families and curious people of all ages dream.

The Councilor for Culture, Donatella Monteverdi, explains the idea behind the initiative embraced by the Fiorita council. “We want to transform San Giovanni into a welcoming and joyful place, where adults and children can experience moments of imagination, creativity and fun together”. The project was born from the collaboration with associations, artists, artisans and local businesses, to give the city a special Christmas full of surprises.

Inside the complex you will discover fairy-tale paths, creative installations created by the Academy of Fine Arts and musical atmospheres curated by the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. A way to completely immerse yourself in the Christmas atmosphere and relive, through stories and images, the most beautiful traditions of our region.

Among the surprises, also a dive into the Calabrian fairy tales of Letterio Di Francia, thanks to the collaboration with the Donzelli publishing house and the support of the Banco di Napoli Foundation: fascinating stories that will make the imagination of the little ones fly.

Some rooms will also host creative workshops and exhibition activities as part of the RaccontArti project with Confartigianato.

The experience of underground Catanzaro cannot be missed: guided tours in the mysterious San Giovanni Galleries, including stories, curiosities and a pinch of magic. This weekend’s visits will take place today, Saturday 6 December from 4.30pm to 8pm (last entry 7.30pm); tomorrow Sunday 7 December from 10.30am to 1pm (last entry 12.30pm) and from 4.30pm to 8pm (last entry 7.30pm).

“It will be an opportunity to discover San Giovanni as a lively place, full of surprises and capable of enchanting everyone”, concludes Councilor Monteverdi.
