Deep condolences in the community of the Holy Family, in the Corvo area, for the passing of Don Achille Gigliotti, a beloved and esteemed parish priest who for over thirty years led the parish with faith, dedication and a spirit of service. The priest, who had recently turned 80, leaves a deep void not only among his parishioners, but throughout the city of Catanzaro.
A reference figure for entire generations of faithful, Don Achille was a strong point for those seeking comfort, listening and guidance. His discreet but constant presence, kind words and ability to welcome anyone with a smile made him a priest appreciated and well-liked by all.
Alongside his tireless pastoral ministry, he taught religion in various city schools, leaving an indelible mark on many students who found in him not only a teacher, but also an authentic example of values and humanity.
Before arriving at the Holy Family parish, Don Achille was for many years deputy parish priest of the San Pio X parish and collaborator of Don Giorgio Bonapace.
Over the years, Don Achille has also stood out for his commitment to preparing engaged couples for marriage, accompanying numerous couples on the journey towards the sacrament with wisdom, empathy and a faith lived with coherence.
The news of his death profoundly shocked the parish community and all those who were fortunate enough to know him and share a part of his life with him. The funeral home will be set up at the Infinity funeral home.
