Persecutory acts, mistreatment and personal injuries. These are the crimes that the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Catanzaro accuses Mario Gregoraci, 74 years old, father of the showgirl Elisabetta, in the request for indictment presented against him. Corriere della Sera reports it. Gregoraci will have to appear on November 5th before the preliminary hearing judge of the Court of Catanzaro. The man was also banned from staying in the municipalities of Davoli and Soverato. The prosecutor’s investigation concerns the alleged violence and harassment allegedly committed by Elisabetta Gregoraci’s father against Rosita Gentile, 56, the man’s ex-partner. The proceedings against Gregoraci arose from complaints presented in recent months to the Catanzaro Prosecutor’s Office by Rosita Gentile, who reported having suffered “repeated harassment and violence” from the man.
According to the complaints presented by the woman, the man would have “mistreated, harassed and threatened” her during the period of cohabitation, which lasted until 2021, even in the presence of her younger daughter, and would subsequently have carried out “obsessive and persecutory conduct” towards her, following her and threatening her. «It is necessary to maintain – said the lawyer Fabio Tino, defender of Rosita Gentile – a healthy balance between the right of defense of the suspect and his presumption of innocence, which in this phase must be protected, without forgetting the protection of the dignity of the offended person, who must be respected and not transformed into an executioner. It is sad, however, to witness a certain type of attack on social media aimed at the alleged victim, accused of only seeking visibility which, I believe, none of us wants to obtain in these terms. Especially if we consider that it was certainly not the victim who recalled the suspect’s family in his public story. And this despite the family’s hostility towards Mrs. Gentile and her relationship with Gregoraci being addressed during the evidentiary incident by the offended person as the motive for the alleged aggressive behavior of the suspect”.
