A tangle of political and administrative issues has now emerged at Palazzo De Nobili in recent weeks between the “service” and the waste issue. It is not certain that in the end they will continue to travel together but at the moment the situation is still rather delicate. Of course, the summer break has ended up cooling moods and tones a bit after the self-protection withdrawal of the tender for separate waste collection. The affair has brought the sector manager under the spotlight of the political forces, especially the opposition and some progressive components of the majority Antonio Dominianni and the relevant councilor George Arcuri. It is precisely here that the story becomes intertwined with politics, since the inclusion in a political verification perspective of the Environment Minister, an expression of the area headed by the regional councillor of Forza Italia, and municipal councillor, Antonello Talerico, it would mean creating a significant friction with the blue exponent.
It is therefore possible that the situation will end up being addressed only on the bureaucratic side. And other sectors that have contributed in some way to the drafting of the tender that was then withdrawn could also be affected. Before any eventual decision, however, the mayor Nicholas Flowery will await the report on the incident from the general secretary Vincenzina Sica.
