Upon completion of the checks carried out in accordance with the guidelines on existing bridges issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the static and dynamic load tests were successfully completed on the Salso viaduct, between the Firmo Sibari and Frascineto junctions, along the A2 “Autostrada del Mediterraneo” in the province of Cosenza.
The activities, carried out up to level 4 of analysis, concerned all the structural components of the work and took place mainly at night, as well as on weekends, in order to minimize interference with vehicular circulation, in particular with heavy traffic.
These activities are part of the scheduled maintenance interventions that Anas is implementing along the entire network of competence, with a view to targeted planning, prevention and efficient management of the infrastructure assets.
Following the results of the checks and experimental tests, the planning of the scheduled maintenance interventions on the viaduct was also started, aimed at improving and maintaining the efficiency and safety conditions of the work.
This is a fundamental step in the company strategy of preventive and scheduled maintenance, which allows us to ensure the highest standards of structural safety, reliability and continuity of service along the national road and motorway network.
