Three students in the first three places and eight in the first eleven in the category reserved for the two -year period. These are the results achieved by the “Enrico Fermi” Higher Education Institute of Catanzaro Lido in the regional final of the chemistry games.
The students classified to the first three places were awarded during a ceremony held in the Department of Chemistry of the University of Calabria, in Rende. The first regional place was conquered by Sara Perronestudent of the 2m class who will participate in the national final scheduled in Florence, second place for Serena Francesca Puccio and third place for Maria Elena Lupiaboth of the 2m. But in the ranking they also obtained excellent placements Samuele Lia In fourth place, Salvatore Saverio progressed in fifth place, Maria Pia Fimiani In the seventh, Russian Erica eighth e Daniel Provenzano Bueno in eleventh place.
These are results that clearly enhance the work carried out by the Institute of Catanzaro Lido and, in particular, from the four -year biomedical address which includes all the students mentioned.
The “Fermi” high school, directed by Teresa August, confirms the excellent results obtained also in the previous year, maintaining a tradition of high value. The pupils were followed by the teacher Clara Todisco, contact person for chemistry games who held a preparation and study course. The work carried out by the teachers of Chemistry Antonella Loiaconono for the 2m and Paola the Great for 1m is fundamental. The results in the category reserved for the three -year period is also very satisfactory, thanks to the tests of the 5A boys followed by the Todisco teacher.
The games are organized by the Italian Chemical Society, on behalf of the General Directorate for School Orders, the evaluation and internationalization of the National Education System of the Ministry of Education and Merit. Born in 1984, the chemistry games and Olympics are included among the initiatives to enhance the excellence concerning high school students. In particular, the games are aimed at all students of secondary schools of Italian second degree, state and equal, and have the aim of stimulating the interest in this discipline in young people, through both individual and team competitions. .
The individual competition is divided into three competition classes: A, B, C. Class A is reserved for students of the first two years of secondary secondary school; Class B is reserved for students of the following three years who attend high schools, technical institutes and professional institutes and, finally, class C is reserved for students of the three -year period of the new technical institutes, technological sector, chemical address, materials and biotechnologies.
