The anticipation for the final evening of the 28th edition of the Giardini Naxos Children’s Film Festival (Messina) which this year is dedicated to Don Lorenzo Milani, on the centenary of his birth, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday 30 July, starting at 20.30 in the Don Bosco Oratory. The organizers awarded two Naxos Seahorse Awards.
The first went to Master Beatrice Veneziinternationally renowned conductor and artistic director of the Taormina Art Sicily Foundation.
The choice to reward Beatrice Venezi was motivated by Father Gianluca Monte, pastor of the Parish of San Pancrazio Bishop, of Giardini-Naxospromoter of the event and the artistic director Ignatius Vasta “for the commendable and constant commitment to the diffusion of classical musical culture among the younger generations”. Fulvia Toscano, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Giardini Naxos and the city councilor Antonella Trefiletti also took part in the delivery of the statuette created by Maestro Turi Azzolina.
“I am honored to receive this award, which comes from a community that has a great concern for culture, art, music and the education of young people. I am close with my heart in support of this Festival and I hope for a collaboration with the Taormina Arte Foundation”, said Beatrice Venezi.
The second one Naxos Seahorse Award, Instead, it was assigned toASD Polisportiva PORTO Don Bosco, chaired by Silvio Buzzurro, who collected the award
The recognition was motivated by the important activities carried out on the territory and in the social sphere, given that the Association has been active since 1996 and by the great sporting results obtained this year with the women’s volleyball team: in the under 12 category it was awarded the national title and is the first sports association in Sicily to win the Scudetto. Furthermore, the under 14 team, again in women’s volleyball, finished third in the national championship
On the final evening of Sunday 30 July the Naxos Seahorse Award to the best film in competition and a special prize will also be awarded in memory of the unforgettable Mons. Salvatore Cingari, creator and founder of the Festival, to the film that best supports and represents the values of peace and coexistence. At 9.30 pm the screening of the out of competition “We just have to win.” Of Javier Fesser.
The event is organized by the Parish of San Pancrazio Vescovo, of Giardini Naxos led by Father Gianluca Monte, with the collaboration of the Film Studies Center, the Municipality of Giardini Naxos, the Metropolitan City of Messina, the Coordination of Film Festivals in Sicily, the Consultorio La Famiglia, the Cinecircolo S.
