The first edition of Christmas Cup Calabria Karate recorded a excellent result for the Asd Tropheum Karate club and the debut for the Asd Energia e Ritmo.
The competition was organized by the regional committee of the National Educational Sports Center at the Pala Sant’Elia in Pentone, in the province of Catanzaro, thanks to the stubborn work of master Vito Greto, of the Asd New Talents of San Vito sull’Ionio, regional contact for Karate of CSEN, the Sports Promotion Body recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee and chaired at regional level by Antonio Caira. Also present, together with Caira, was the CSEN Catanzaro provincial president Francesco De Nardo, member of the CSEN national committee and coordinator of the national tax information portal FiscoCSEN as an expert in tax and labor law matters. The competition was refereed by the group of CSEN Competition Officials and Jury Presidents, coordinated by the national sector manager Massimiliano Roncato.
The competition was won by Asd New Talents, followed by Shotokan Karate Club Nunziata and Ciccio Mollos Gym. But the clubs of the Costa degli Dei also recorded excellent results, which represent a good start to the current sports season.
Going to the news of the event, excellent results for the two companies that operate in the Santa Domenica di Ricadi sports facility. The ASD Tropheum presented itself at this race divided into two groups: the first formed by the athletes who joined the association during the 2024 sports season, the second, represented by new members, constituted the representative of the ASD Energia e Ritmo.
«A great experience for everyone – comments Maestro La Torre – not only for those who won, but above all a nice way to close 2024 for the Tropheum. If we had kept all the students in a single group, looking carefully at the final ranking of the competition, we would have reached the podium with third place, but in the end that’s fine, because we have shown that the important thing is to participate».
Regarding Energy and Rhythm, the president Antonio La Torre explains that «it is an association created to gradually replace the Tropheum, which was based on the single discipline of Karate, while the new one has the nature of a sports club and also organizes international dance courses Caribbean, with teacher Angela La Torre, and Gymnastics aimed at health and fitness, with teacher Franca Fazzari”.
