The meeting room of the CISL Magna Grecia of Catanzaro, in the Mancuso Gallery, hosted the seminar promoted by Confedilizia Catanzaro entitled “Condominium without barriers. Accessibility and rights in condominium buildings”, included in the initiative “Condominium and freedom: beyond the obstacles of living”.
The meeting, which recorded a significant participation of condominium administrators, professionals and interested parties, represented a moment of in-depth analysis and discussion on the issues of accessibility, dignity and personal rights in condominium life.
The meeting opened with greetings from Daniele Gualtieri, General Secretary of the CISL Magna Grecia, who underlined the importance of promoting a culture of real inclusion, and from Sandro Scoppa, President of Confedilizia Calabria, who recalled how “talking about architectural barriers means talking about freedom: the freedom to move, to choose, to live without physical or bureaucratic obstacles”.
This was followed by speeches by Antonio Abate, President of CORAM Catanzaro, Elma Battaglia, Vice President of the Order of Social Workers of Calabria, and Roberto Merante, Engineer of the Order of Engineers of Catanzaro.
The debate, moderated by journalist Gabriele Rubino, placed the relationship between accessibility and individual freedom at the center of attention, highlighting the need for an integrated approach capable of combining social sensitivity, regulatory knowledge and technical competence.
During the meeting, the legal and practical aspects relating to the interventions for the elimination of architectural barriers were analysed: the assembly procedures, the criteria for allocating expenses and the fiscal opportunities that incentivize the realization of the works.
It was also underlined that accessibility represents a principle of civilization and not a mere bureaucratic fulfillment: an indispensable condition for the home and common spaces to truly become places of freedom and autonomy.
The seminar offered a complete and concrete overview of the issues related to the subject, reiterating how the objective of breaking down barriers is not only technical, but also cultural and civil.
