Moments of great fear last night in the area of the port of Schiavonea, near the fish market, where a violent accident involved three very young people. A car, on board three boys of just 14 years old, for reasons still in the assessment phase, suddenly skidded, breaking down part of the fence and ending its race inside the port area, on the pier.
The scene was dramatic. All three boys were injured, but a 14 year old who suffered particularly serious trauma. Immediately rescued by the 118 health workers, the young man was urgently transported to the “Giannettasio” hospital in Rossano, where in the night he was subjected to a delicate surgery. He is currently hospitalized in the resuscitation department and his conditions remain serious.
Instead, the conditions of the other two occupants of the vehicle, also transported to the hospital for the case care are less worrying.
The firefighters of the Corigliano-Rossano detachment, together with the Coast Guard and the soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza, intervened at the accident site. The intervention of the 118 healthcare personnel is also fundamental, who lent the first care to the boys and organized the transport to the health facilities.
Investigations are underway to clarify the dynamics and causes of the accident.
