A great moment of sharing and reflection brought together this morning, in the parish of San Paolo in Corigliano-Rossano, teachers, students and families for the Jubilee of the Educational World, promoted by the diocesan offices dedicated to schools.
The meeting, which involved all the components of the educational world of the diocese, had as its common thread the hope and responsibility of educating. The intervention of the prof was central. Marco Brusati, professor at the University of Florence, who invited young people not to fall into the illusions of social media and digital appearance: true hope – he said – comes from authentic relationships and the free love of God.
During the celebration, the Archbishop urged the educational community to be “salt of the earth and light of the world”, recalling that education is a form of peace and an act of love that generates the future. He also recalled Pope Francis’ message on the Global Educational Pact and the new horizons indicated by the Holy Father Leo XIV: artificial intelligence, unarmed peace and education for interior life.
The event is part of the journey towards the global Jubilee of the World of Education scheduled in Rome from 27 October to 1 November, with meetings and celebrations presided over by the Pope and the Education Village set up around St. Peter’s.
