Cosenza bids farewell to Sankoh

Cosenza says goodbye to Sankoh and is now waiting for a real striker to change the course of the season. The restyling has just begun.
Yesterday, meanwhile, the Cosenza adventure of the Rotifunk footballer officially ended. The Dutch striker has returned to Stuttgart, where before his transfer to Cosenza he had played with the B team in the equivalent of the Italian Serie C. The player born in 2003 originally from Sierra Leone was unable to establish himself in the cadets. Arrived in the last days of the summer transfer market, Sankoh was used by Alvini only once as a starter, in the away game against Palermo at the beginning of September.
Before that evening, the player had already made his debut in the home match against Spezia, which ended with a score of 0-0. Precisely against the La Spezia players, in one of the last balls of the match, he had the great chance to change the direction of his stay on the banks of the Crati but on Ricciardi’s cross from the right he was unable to frame the target with the goal unguarded. The wasted opportunity remains the main snapshot of the Cosenza journey. As the months passed, the 21-year-old forward found less and less space. On 7 December, against Frosinone, he played his last minutes in the Wolves jersey. Even that day, however, his entry onto the field was not positive.
Sporting director Gennaro Delvecchio spoke about his adaptation to Italian football before the home match against Modena. On that occasion, the Apulian had admitted the difficulties revealed by Sankoh. The sporting director also referred to the attacker’s limited playing time, a factor that did not help his inclusion, however justifying Massimiliano Alvini’s choices. After that conference, the coach granted three more consecutive chances to the Dutchman who, however, even in this way was unable to change the course of his passage at the feet of Sila, making the termination of the loan signed last August inevitable.
The load of hopes towards him, many of which linked to the number nine shirt ultimately inherited from Gennaro Tutino, quickly deflated. Cosenza is still looking for a striker who can make the Neapolitan forget by solving the Bruzia team’s problems in the goal area. The search for the Silanes leads to Gabriele Artistico. The Roman striker, owned by Lazio, is about to leave Juve Stabia, with whom he has scored two goals so far but without ever participating from the start (he has instead come on as a substitute on sixteen occasions). Once his loan with the Castellammare team has been resolved, the player should continue his season in the rossoblù, in search of the space he was unable to carve out in Campania.
After the good numbers of the last Serie C with Virtus Francavilla (12 goals in 39 games despite relegation), Artistic wants to show off in Serie B, which is why Cosenza seems to have beaten the competition from Benevento.
