Cosenza forced to find the light again

The defeat against Frosinone on Saturday afternoon stings a lot. The internal misstep interrupted the long useful streak and dropped Cosenza into third-last position. Two factors that have brought the rossoblù back into darkness. Immediately, all the good done in the last two months was erased. The silani, against the yellow-blues, paid for Martino’s own goal, originating from a probably too energetic intervention by Marchizza on Ricciardi. At the end of the match, Alvini also pointed out Monterisi’s hand touch on the goal line, following a save by Cerofolini on Rizzo Pinna. Two episodes that weighed on the final result but which must not overshadow the poor performance offered by Cosenza in an extremely delicate and important match. At “Marulla” too many matches have gone by without a win. The defeat against the Lazio team has exacerbated the home difficulties of the Wolves, who at least now hope to be favored by the collaboration of the calendar, which offers two consecutive away games.
The rossoblù, against Frosinone, returned to playing a lackluster matchas it hadn’t happened in a long time. The Ciociari closed every gap to the Bruzia team who struggled to be dangerous in the Cerofolini area. Micai and his associates exposed themselves to the possibility of being hit in other cases too but the result did not become more severe due to the four posts scored by the Frusinati and the two saves made by Mantua’s number one.
The wound caused by Saturday’s defeat will have to be healed quickly in an important month which will lead to the internal derby with Catanzaro before the end of the calendar year in Reggio Emilia against Sassuolo. For Cosenza, therefore, the need arises to react immediately to the punch suffered, referring to determination, anger and sacrifice, the qualities that in these first months of the championship have allowed the Sila team to stay afloat despite a harsh penalty.
In view of the “Manuzzi” match, it will be up to Alvini to decide whether to review some choices or continue with the team that was able to bring some joy to the fans before Saturday. Against Frosinone, however, several players performed below par. In particular, Martino stumbled upon a nightmarish evening which he was unable to counter even with his usual application and determination. The player from Modena, after a good finish on Ambrosino, caused the opponent’s goal with a faulty header. He was then “stained” by other naiveties, such as the one he threw Kvernadze into the open field at the end. In defense, Venturi and Camporese remain waiting for a chance. The Tuscan coach is also called upon to make reflections from midfield upwards. The attack finished dry, something that hadn’t happened since 19 October, at the end of a phase in which Cosenza had produced just one goal (against Bari) in four games (also dry against Sassuolo and Sudtirol).
