A new life for Manuel Ricciardi. With the goal scored last Saturday in Potenza, the 25-year-old Roman has joined Florenzi in second place in the Sila season scorers’ rankings. The former Avellino player remained on the sidelines of the team for a long time in the summer. He spent Lorica’s retreat “separated at home” and continued in this way during the second phase of the work carried out in the city. His return to Serie B, however, did not materialize and in the end, after a conversation with Buscè, he made himself available to Cosenza.
The new path proved to be extremely profitable from an implementation point of view. The tactical position with which Ricciardi returned to the pitch is proving effective. Playing in the attacking midfield, the rossoblù number 16 is much more present in the dangerous area for the opponents. His offensive sense had already been exploited a year ago by Alvini, when for some stretches of the season he had given the Roman a very “driven” vocation in the possession phase.
In this first glimpse, the player signed by the Wolves during the summer of 2024 appeared very comfortable in a more advanced role. Indeed, he offered his best performances in support of Mazzocchi, on the contrary reporting some difficulties when he was called upon to step out in Cimino’s place as a low right winger.
