For some days the Municipal Police has been carrying out more intense and widespread checks in the entire area of the city bus lines. The activity was ordered by the Municipal Police Command, directed by Commander Gianpiero Scaramuzzo, in agreement with the Mayor Franz Caruso, following the reports made by citizens and residents.
The problems present in the area had in fact been directly represented to the Mayor during a recent meeting with the residents, during which some uncomfortable and critical situations were highlighted which required immediate investigation and adequate control action.
Urban security and collaboration between institutions
The intensification of Municipal Police services is part of the activities aimed at guaranteeing greater safety, legality and liveability in a particularly busy area of the city, ensuring a constant presence of officers and careful monitoring of reported situations. This is an action that complements and supports the precious work carried out daily by the Police Forces within their respective competences, in a logic of institutional collaboration aimed at strengthening the presence of the State in the territory.
Particular attention towards these problems has always been shown by the Prefect Rosa Maria Padovano, who follows with sensitivity and consistency the issues related to urban safety and the protection of the areas most exposed to phenomena of degradation and discomfort.
Mayor Franz Caruso’s response to citizens’ requests
“The commitment made with the citizens has not remained a simple declaration of intent – said Mayor Franz Caruso -. During the meeting with the residents we had ensured a concrete intervention to address the critical issues highlighted and today we are following up on that promise. The checks arranged also represent a response to the requests we received and are part of a process of institutional collaboration with all the police forces and with the Prefecture. We will continue to maintain high attention on the bus line area and on everyone the neighborhoods of the city, because listening to citizens means above all transforming their requests into effective actions and tangible responses”.
