The two days of the 12th ended Ust Cisl Cosenza congressan important moment of internal democracy, comparison and proposal, on the theme “Work, participation and social responsibility to regenerate the territory – the courage of participation“.
The works, conducted by the secretary general USR CISL Calabria Giuseppe Laviasaw the participation of delegates, authorities and guests, were opened by the general secretary Ust Cisl Cosenza Michele Sapiawhile the CISL confederal secretary Mattia Pirulli He traced the conclusions of the first day.
The congress, clearly inspired by the proposed law on the participation promoted by the outgoing secretary general of the CISL, Luigi Sbarraand supported by the National Secretary of CISL, Daniela Fumarola, represented an important opportunity to reaffirm the centrality of work, economic democracy and the protagonism of workers in the decision -making processes of companies and territories.
A relationship appreciated by the audience, that of Michele Sapia who touched the various issues of a union activity engaged in the various sectors: “In an area such as the Province of Cosenza, with strong potential not yet expressed, labor, security and participation issues are of absolute centrality. It is the duty of a reformist, autonomous and responsible union such as the CISL, in this territory, positively and with protagonism on the great themes: Infrastructure, social inclusion, public health, school, fight against organized crime, territory care, conciliation between human work and artificial intelligence, gender equality, protection of families and elderly population. The Cisl of Cosenza, concluded Michele Sapia, with the trade union activity, the territorial federations, the associations and the network of services, will continue to be the protagonist, rooted among people, to build a more just community, solidarity and capable of looking at the future with confidence “.
In his report the Confederal Secretary Cisl Mattia Pirulli He recalled the next and imminent birthday of the CISL, which “will celebrate an important opportunity for reflection and commitment. A date that does not represent only a goal, but a continuous push towards the future, towards evolution and improvement”. Starting from the International situation Pirulli has pointed out the priority themes of our country. Finally, Matteo Pirulli closed his intervention by referring to a fundamental concept for the future of the union: strong confederalism. The idea of working together, between categories and unions, to build a common design that leads to unity. According to Pirulli, only with strong cohesion the union will be able to face external difficulties and bring home significant results for workers. He recalled that each of us has chosen to be part of the CISL “not only for the present, but for a better future, hoping that this congress can represent a renewed opportunity for cohesion”.
Many attended and the testimonies issued by the guests on the first day: municipal and regional institutional representatives, Prosecutor of Cosenza, CGIL and UIL comprehensive and territorial, provincial and regional policy, employers and entrepreneurs, Directorate of the Health Authority and ASP, representatives of the INAIL and INPS social security institutions, religious communities and teachers of the Unical. At the end of the second day the elections of the General Council Ust Cisl Cosenza took place.
