“I wanted to personally understand how the operation is progressing – he states Franz Caruso – which is undoubtedly creating traffic inconveniences, for which I apologize, although I am aware that they are inevitable when impactful works are carried out and which will change the face of the entire neighbourhood. It goes without saying that the choice to do them in a certain period rather than another does not depend on the will of the Administration, but on a series of procedures that must be respected when dealing with public affairs. And, in fact, the opening of the construction site, which we had expected in July, was then postponed due to technical problems not attributable to the Municipality. I believe, however, that the deadlines will be respected and that the work will be completed soon, so as to improve the accessibility of the neighborhood and make circulation fluid, which today has undergone changes in which, however, the needs of the traders in the area have been kept in mind, whose activities can therefore be reached. Nonetheless, understanding the difficulties of the category, which I had the opportunity to discuss with the councillor Francesco Turco, particularly linked to this part of our territory, I have already given a mandate to the offices in charge to hypothesize in the next Tari a relief relating to the duration of the construction site”.
“Having said this – continues Mayor Franz Caruso – it is hardly necessary to highlight that the roundabout being built is part of a larger and more complex redevelopment project for the entire area, followed by councilor Pina Incarnato, whom I thank, which includes two macro-interventions. The first, for approximately 7 million euros, concerns the renovation of underground services, the water and sewerage networks, the resurfacing of the road surface, the creation of new sidewalks and 5 social gathering spaces. The second, for another 6 million euros, concerns the recovery and renovation works of 4 properties intended for public residential construction. To this I add the construction of a new nursery school in Via Saverio Albo.”
“In short – concludes Franz Caruso – there is a targeted growth action aimed at the neighborhood that no Mayor who acted against me has initiated towards these marginalized areas of the city which for me, however, are of absolute importance. Having to do what has never been done until now, patience is needed on the part of our fellow citizens until the work is completed. On that occasion their patience will be rewarded by the increased value that the entire area will acquire”
