The validation of the arrests is scheduled for today. And meanwhile from the past of Jacques and Jessica Moretti, the owners of the Le Constellation restaurant in Crans-Montana where 40 people died in the New Year’s Eve fire, news has leaked out of two investigations in Valais: a criminal one in 2020 into Covid funds and one by the labor inspectorate in 2022. Le Matin Dimanche and the SonntagsZeitung report that they had obtained 75,500 euros in Covid loans, around 10% of their company’s turnover and then used 33 thousand of it to buy a Maserati, subsequently sold to Jacques’ father. It ended in no place to proceed because they proved that the car was not their property but was in the accounts of Le Constellation. In 2022, however, the labor inspectorate intervened after reports from French employees of irregularities such as “working hours and rest periods not respected, unpaid night work”, reported a person familiar with the dossier.
