Crotone conquers the “Viviani” and goes through to the Cup round by overturning Sorrento 1-3, who dominated the first half. Tough and fragmented start, with the brightest and most aggressive coastal players on the second balls. Harrasser saves from Ricci and Murano, then in the 22nd minute Riccardi invents for Esposito who scores the 1-0. Sorrento controls, almost doubles the lead from a free kick and takes advantage of Cocetta’s injury, while Crotone reacts in a confused way.
In the second half everything changes: Longo introduces Maggio and the inertia is reversed. After a dangerous free kick from Riccardi, Murano came close to equalizing and in the 10th minute he served Ricci the ball to make it 1-1. The rossoblù increase the intensity and in the 17th minute they find the penalty awarded by Maggio and converted by Gomez. Sorrento tries to react, but in the 33rd minute Calvano steals the ball and launches Maggio to make it 1-3. In the final Crecco causes a penalty and expulsion, but Piovanello makes a mistake from eleven metres. Crotone convincing in the second half and qualified: now the winner of Potenza–Cerignola awaits.
