Crotone, man convicted of drug dealing ends up in prison

The Police arrested, in execution of a detention order issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Crotone, a young man from Crotone because he was held responsible for the crime of possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing.

The seizure of narcotic substances

Specifically, the provision originates from a previous activity carried out by the police officers of the Crotone Police Headquarters in which the man, following a house search at his home, located in the Acquabona district, was found in possession of over 250 grams of narcotic substance of the cocaine type and almost 90 grams of hashish, as well as packaging material and a precision scale.

Conviction and transfer to prison

In light of the ascertained facts, the Judicial Authority ordered the man to be transferred to the local prison, having to serve a final sentence of 4 years and 2 months of imprisonment.

Strategy to combat crime in the area

The operation is part of a broader service prepared by the Police Commissioner of the Province of Crotone, Renato Panvino, aimed at combating drug dealing in line with the directives issued by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Crotone, Domenico Guarascio, aimed at targeting the criminal organizations that supply the drug dealing centers operating in the area, with particular attention to those frequented by younger people.
