This morning, the Prefect of Crotone, Franca Ferraroand the Regional Director of the Fire Brigade for Calabria, Maurizio Luciathey did visit to the headquarters of the Crotone Fire Brigade. The Prefect was welcomed by the Regional Director, Maurizio Lucia, and by the Provincial Commander, Antonio Summa, by the technical officials and by all the staff in service, both operational and administrative. The types of rescue operations carried out in the province of Crotone by the Fire Brigade were illustrated to the Prefect, stopping to view the vehicles and the operations room of the Command, speaking with great interest with the operators who first collect the rescue requests of citizens. The visit was an opportunity to underline the importance of the close and essential relationship of synergy between the Prefecture and the Fire Brigade, also in the management of emergencies.
In thanking the Director and the Commander for the welcome received, the Prefect addressed to all the staff sincere words of appreciation for the activity that the women and men of the Fire Brigade carry out on a daily basis, highlighting it as a distinctive and peculiar element the humanity with which the rescue activity is conducted. At the end of the visit, the Commander, on behalf of all the Staff, as a sign of esteem and appreciation of the closeness always shown, donated an artistic ceramic, depicting Santa Barbara and the column symbol of the province of Crotone, to the Prefect and the Regional Director of the Fire Brigade of Calabria, who had not been able to personally collect the gift on the occasion of the recent event held, for the Santa Barbara holiday, on 04 December 2024 in Crotone at Piazza della Resistenza.
