De Luca and the Messina “cracks”: a new warning is issued to sailors

A promise: greater presence in Messina, where there are starting to be too many cracks to remedy. And an appointment: see you next Friday, for a new point on the situation. Which could, who knows, also concern new and, for the moment, unpredictable political dynamics on the regional scene, which could trigger a domino effect with inevitable implications also on the banks of the Strait.
Last night, at aperitif time, Cateno De Luca met his “team” – starting with the mayor Federico Basile, naturally – in Messina. Those “called” had prepared for a tense meeting and there were those who also expected heavy rebukes regarding some events that had escaped the control of the Deluchian communication machine, from the “Fratelli tutti” issue in the field of social services to the unexpected turn taken by the extraordinary municipal council dedicated to the ATM.
After all, yesterday morning De Luca, with one of his classic and “tactical” social posts, had entrusted to a dialogue (real or not, the substance changes little) with his mother a thought that to many in the city had resonated as a warning to sailors: «Before making other commitments, check carefully how things are going where you have put your best foot forward to hand over your and our sacrifices to others – the words attributed by De Luca to the mother -, because you could be disappointed compared to your fair expectations.” A clear message, far from new for De Luca, indeed, very similar to that “more soldiers, fewer generals” which, just over a year ago, had given rise to a general reshuffle, which later proved to be less revolutionary than initial expectations.
