There is always a lot of interest around the “Nicola Ceravolo” Award. Even if he no longer has the same participation as in the early years, for Claudio Ranieri, Antonio Conte (the national team coach at the time) or Carlo Ancelotti, his why is always evident. Even more so now that the event has opened up to new generations of coaches, from Roberto De Zerbi who won last year to Enzo Maresca who won this 12th edition. After all, it is not the order of the day to have the Chelsea manager who is world club champion in Catanzaro and to remember, thanks to him, a giant of Calabrian football like the “Presidentitissimo” Nicola Ceravolo.
«Chelsea has a connection with the Italian coaches, who have always won something there, so I felt a bit of pressure. We are paying a lot for the Club World Cup, because we have 9-10 injured players since we haven’t really retired, but it was worth it and I’m having a lot of fun in England”, said Maresca in conversation with the creator and organizer of the Award, Maurizio Insardà, the presenter Marica Giannini.
