The Court of Appeal of Messina rejected the appeal proposed by the former building contractor from Lipari Enrico Reitanoagainst the sentence of the Barcelona court that had convicted him, holding him responsible for the death of the then forty-year-old bricklayer Bartolo Todaro. The worker lost his life on 28 September 2013, following the collapse of a wall of an old building, which was located inside a construction site owned by the entrepreneur, in the Chiesa nuova area, in the Lipari area of Quattropani. In an attempt to save the young man from death, who had been crushed by the wall, an attempt was made to transfer him to the Papardo di Messina with the 118 helicopter: an aircraft on which, unfortunately, he died.
