Men, all adults, said they came from Egypt, Pakistan and Bangladesh. They traveled aboard a sailboat intercepted off the Calabrian Ionian coast. The rescue operations took place without accidents, thanks to the timely intervention of the Coast Guard.

Once landed, the migrants were entrusted to the care of the medical staff and the Red Cross, present on the spot together with the police and the volunteers of the local associations, who proceeded to welcome and the first logistical support. The competent authorities have launched the usual procedures for identifying and ascertaining the legal position of the castaways.
