In Calabria, disability is a social indicator that measures the structural fragility of this land. And not only that. It also illuminates the gray areas of a welfare system under pressure. The numbers listed in the report by the CGIA research office in Mestre are not just statistics but fuel doubts that have always plagued the region and, more generally, the entire South. In particular, there is a question that arises spontaneously: why does Calabria record the highest incidence of disability pensions among the entire population?
