Drunk driving has cost Justin Timberlake his license. NBC News reports that the singer appeared at a virtual hearing from Belgium and the judge temporarily suspended his driving license. He also reprimanded his lawyer for comments he called ‘irresponsible.’ It’s unclear what exactly was said. The judge also threatened to issue a ‘gag order’, a ban on commenting on matters related to the trial.

Timberlake, 43, was arrested on June 18 in the Hamptons, a seaside town not far from New York City, for driving while clearly intoxicated. He had spent an evening drinking and partying with friends. Taken to the police station, he spent a night behind bars and was released the next day on bail.

A judge initially considered dismissing the case, but after the singer refused to take the balloon test, he reversed his decision and instead decided to suspend his license for the duration of the case. For his part, Timberlake maintains that he did not drive drunk and that he only had one cocktail before being stopped.
