Last weekend, Near the places of the Messina nightlifean extraordinary control service has been prepared against “Saturday night massacres” implemented by Travel Police patrols Together with the staff of the Health Office of the Messina Police Headquarters, aimed at ascertaining the psychophysical conditions of the drivers and compliance with the main rules of the Highway Code, whose non -compliance is often the cause of serious road claims. Also present was a camper made available by the ASP of Messina for toxicological investigations on drivers.
There were 44 vehicles and 50 people controlled, 25 contested penalties and 3 circulation documents withdrawn for serious infringements. Toxicological tests on drivers were also carried out – with almost immediate results. In fact, a driver was positive for the alcohol test with the consequent application of the penalties provided. Eight violations of as many drivers/passengers for omitted use of the seat belts, while for another driver the seizure of the vehicle was triggered for lack of insurance coverage.
