Electoral shock to the Municipality of Cosenza for councilors and councilors in the running

The “cruel urn”. The expression coined by the seven-time Prime Minister, Giulio Andreotti, after a resounding electoral retreat of the “white whale” seems to resonate in the corridors of Palazzo dei Bruzi.
The regional elections leave a plethora of losers in municipal political history. Of candidates who, despite the good number of votes collected, did not obtain the coveted seat in the austere Palazzo Campanella in Reggio.
The municipal councilors belonging to the Cinquestelle Movement, Veronica Buffone and Massimiliano Battaglia, obtained 2488 and 2984 preferences respectively, placing them in fifth and fourth place. The electoral approval obtained kept them away from the Calabrian assembly. The same goes for the president of the municipal council, Giuseppe Mazzuca, a member of the Democratic Party, who took sixth place on the list with 3778 votes.
The progressive councilor, Bianca Rende, on the “Tridico Presidente” list, came second with 4435 preferences without however winning the election. She ran as the leader in the Northern constituency and in the urban area Rende was the most voted female candidate.
