The British police do not forgive road infringements: Emma Watson, a popular star of international cinema and already interpreter of the character of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter saga, has also noticed from Jk Rowling’s novels, which was seen inflicting not only a heavy fine, but also the suspension of the license for having violated the speed limits of a few kilometers per hour.
Watson was caught months ago at the wheel of his Audi while proceeding 38 miles per hour on a road marked by the limit of 30 miles near Oxford: where since 2023 the 35-year-old actress has returned to dress in real life the role of the student, having been admitted to a post-gradual course to achieve a master’s degree in creative writing in the prestigious local university. The case – as reported by the BBC, among others – ended up in front of a judge of the Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, where the actress did not appear in person.
It was represented by the lawyer Mark Haslam, who properly confirmed the generality indicating it as a “student”, but guaranteeing on his solvency. Having said, the judge set 1044 pounds the fine to be paid (over 1200 euros) and suspended her license: she will not be able to drive for the next six months.
