Guarantee the continuity of care to the vacationers and to those who come from outside the province. With resolution n.199 of last April 30 by the extraordinary commissioner Monica Calamai, the ASP of Crotone authorized the “Holiday dialysis” project, which offers concrete support to the nephropathics that will be found in the Crotone area during the summer months. A service highly appreciated in the past which, last year, had sugged a stop. For 2025, however, the ASP of Crotone increases the dose, covering a wider period than in past years: the service has already been active from last May 1 and will be in force until the end of September. Not only that. “Holiday dialysis” will also be activated during the Christmas holidays, between December and January, when many return to their territories of origin. The proposal, which started from the primary of Nephrology and Dialysis Giuseppe Coppolino, was also supported by Aneds, the National Hemodialyzed Association.
“It is an important public health offer for chronic dialysis from other regions or nations – commented on the Extraordinary Commissioner Calamai – Especially in the locality of a marked tourist vocation such as Crotone and its province, it is essential to guarantee the dialysis service to those who are not resident in the area, offering the possibility of spending the holidays in total safety“.
“From the beginning of the year to today – added the Primary of Nephrology Coppolino – At least ten patients outside the province were who contacted the Crotone’s Dialisi Centro Dialysis Center, to ask to be able to take advantage of the dialysis in the summer and one of them has already started treatment last Monday. A praise to the strategic direction is a duty, which in quick times welcomed our proposal, demonstrating a particular sensitivity to tourists suffering from chronic renal failure“.
To take advantage of the “Holiday dialysis” service, you need to send an email to (email protected)with the indications of the patient’s data, the dialytic card and the performance request.
