In the name of tradition, this year too the Biodiversity Carabinieri gave smiles and moments of hope to children hospitalized in Italian hospitals. The initiative, called “The Epiphany of Biodiversity”involved over 100 forestry carabinieri who, on the occasion of the Epiphany, visited pediatric departments of 44 hospitals and family homes, reaching more than 1200 young patients.

The carabinieri brought special gifts such as notebooks, pencils, hats, paints, canvas backpacks and playing cards, to alleviate the children’s difficulties and create moments of joy even in a delicate context. But the most important gift was the transmission of love for nature: through stories and images, the young patients were able to discover the extraordinary richness of the 150 State Nature Reserves and State Forests managed by the Carabinieri Biodiversity Group.

The initiative also touched the “Jazzolino” hospital in Vibo Valentia, where the healthcare staff enthusiastically welcomed the forestry police, contributing to the success of the event. Here, the children had the opportunity to immerse themselves, albeit virtually, in Italian biodiversity, among unique habitats and rare species.

«This demonstration – explain the Carabinieri – is not only a gesture of solidarity, but also an opportunity to raise awareness among the new generations of the importance of protecting the environment and biodiversity».

With “The Epiphany of Biodiversity”, the forestry carabinieri have demonstrated once again how nature and solidarity can intertwine, offering not only a smile to the little ones, but also hope for a greener and more aware future.
