The final is served. With an amazing score, 104 out of 105 (record of the two editions of MessinTavola) the surgeon Paolo Locurto won the last semi-final of the Rtp cooking show and won the pass for the final which will be held next Tuesday on Rtp at 9pm (reruns the same evening at 11.15pm, the following day at 11am and 3.15pm and on Saturday evening at 9pm). The doctor convinced the jury with his pesto, clearly beating professor MariaFrancesca Gioè and journalist Floriana Riso.
The cooking show hosted by Salvatore De Maria and Valeria Zingale took place as usual in the suggestive setting of the Corte dei Mari in the presence of the jury composed of Alberto Palella (Confesercenti and creator of the Messina Street Food Fest), prof. Nico Cicero of the University of Messina, by Antonella Ruggeri (owner of Corte dei Mari), by Saro Gugliotta, president of AssoCibo, by Maria Pia Madaudo of Cantine Camporè and by Valeria Tomaso of Tenuta Anasita. A clear victory, the result of a constant path and an approach that is always measured but full of personality.
Thus the picture of the MessinTavola finalists is completed, where the Policlinico surgeon joined the entrepreneur Mario Milano and the housewife Liliana Tomasello. The winner of the second edition of the Rtp talent show will emerge from the last act, successor to Roberto Antonuccio (in the photo).
For the occasion, in addition to the usual “team”, the jury will include chef Paolo Romeo who has prepared the test on which the three competitors will have to compete, with 5 surprise ingredients. Each competitor will be able to add another ingredient to their liking to characterize their dish. «It is a very complex challenge – underlines Paolo Romeo – but it is a final and it is right that the three competitors demonstrate their ability to improvise and put together a dish that manages to win over the jury. Whoever wins will also have the pleasure of seeing the dish included in the “Corte dei Mari” menu.”
«A beautiful journey is completed – adds Saro Gugliotta – which has allowed us to talk to many people from Messina about our traditions and good food. We did it with the lightness of a game, but offering those who followed us lots of useful information on food and the properties of our cuisine.”
The winner will receive the prizes offered by Maria Pia Madaudo of Cantine Camporè and Dino Cardile of Cardileforni. The final of MessinTavola will arrive two days before the start of the Messina Street Food Fest, where the winner will cook with a chef on Thursday evening. The final awards ceremony will then be held on stage with all the competitors.
