Seventy -five years of total prison for seven defendants: this is the request made by the public prosecutor of Vibo, Eugenia Belmonte, at the end of the indictment of the process resulting from the investigation into the extortion carried out in the Vibonese territory between 2009 and 2022, against companies in charge of the collection of urban waste.
The requests of the Prosecutor: Michele Manco: 21 years of imprisonment and 30 thousand euros of fine; Francesco Antonio Pardea And Salvatore Morelli (called “the American”) 12 years and 10 thousand euros each; Domenico “Mommo” Macrì 10 years and 9 thousand euros; Domenico Serra And Andrea Serra 7 years and 6 thousand euros each; The collaborator of justice Andrea Mantella 6 years and 5 thousand euros. The District Anti -Mafia Directorate of Catanzaro had reconstructed in detail the long sequence of criminal episodes. Among the affected companies include, for example, “Dusty Srl” and “Ased Srl”, the latter entry of the urban solid waste collection service in the municipality of Vibo Valentia. In September 2022 five subjects had been arrested, while in the following months the investigation had closed for thirteen suspects.
