The danger fortunately averted this afternoon in the city center of Sant’Agata Militello. In fact, around 4pm a loud noise was heard followed by an acrid smell of gas coming from the internal courtyard of the “Agorà” centre. The alarm was raised by a girl who lives in one of the houses in the condominium who left the house in a panic and told of a cylinder exploding. Immediately alerted, the Fire Brigade from the local detachment promptly arrived on site and ascertained that the cylinder placed on the balcony of the house had fortunately not exploded, and that the splash had been caused by the detachment of a hose connected to the cylinder itself from which the gas then leaked and invaded the stairs and courtyard of the building. Fear therefore returned for all residents, with the police themselves who then took care of the cleanup and made it safe.
