The City Council is scheduled for this afternoon (2pm) in an urgent extraordinary session, in a public session, in the first and only call, which will address it publicly and in front of the city the “serious fault” that the Court of Auditors has, as the jurisdictional seat for Calabria and in monocratic composition, promoted against the mayor Lo Polito and other administrators who would have generated the financial collapse of the institution. The provision was immediately appealed before a different judging panel.
The council meeting, which should have taken place a few months ago, precisely to promptly inform the city, does not appear to be particularly easy, because the matter of dispute, the financial one, has been dragging on for several decades now. The last three finance councilors were also supposed to attend this afternoon’s meeting.
In all of this it would have been important to listen to the three prefectural commissioners who, since the day the financial collapse was declared, have been governing the OSL (extraordinary liquidation body), precisely for the period in which the financial life was re-established of the city.
