Steven Seagal declared himself to be willing to “die for Vladimir Putin”, while Russia seems ready to deploy it in the conflict against Ukraine. The American actor, now 72 years old and a Russian citizen since 2016, recently presented his new documentary, “In the name of justice”. AdnKronos reports it.
Best known for his 80s and 90s action films, Seagal moved to Russia, severing ties with the United States, where he is embroiled in legal disputes over financial and tax violations and sexual assault allegations.
Over time, Seagal has become a prominent supporter of the Kremlinso much so that he obtained the title of ‘Special Representative’ for cultural reasons. The actor, present at Putin’s official ceremonies, openly supported the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In his documentary, Seagal visited occupied territories and wrote a letter to Putin, expressing his willingness to fight alongside him and, if necessary, die for him.
Seagal’s words caught the party’s attention ‘Veterans of Russia’who offered his full support to the actor should he decide to join the conflict. In a letter, the party president, Ildar Reziapov, praised the actor as a symbol of loyalty and patriotism. At the moment, it is unclear whether Seagal has decided to accept the offer to enlist.
