Lombardians are asking for more money for former columnists stabilized in the Municipalities. We Moderates is pushing to take the Pips of Palermo from part time to full time. The unions call for the expansion of the number of temporary workers to whom higher salaries can be guaranteed. Everyone wants something more from the Budget. And, 24 hours after the majority summit which allowed Schifani to agree on the topics to add to the basic text, the problem is making ends meet. The resources – they calculated yesterday at the Department of Economy – are not enough for everything.
The first doubts concern the request to increase the employment and salary of the approximately 15 thousand temporary workers stabilized in recent years by the Municipalities: the majority summit has identified for the moment around thirty million, sufficient to add just a couple of more hours per week. But yesterday the Mpa-Grande Sicilia entrusted one of its mayors, Danilo Parasole of San Michele di Ganzaria, with the appeal to allocate more: «It is unthinkable to ensure adequate services to citizens with staff who work part-time for 18 or 24 hours a week». The mayor warns: «The contributory system, combined with salaries of around a thousand euros a month, will produce thousands of pensioners with allowances of less than 500 euros». It is no coincidence that the president of the ANCI, Paolo Amenta, asks to increase this staff “to at least 30 hours per week”.
But the Department of Economy is struggling to find extra resources. Especially since Noi Moderati, with Marianna Caronia, has filed an amendment that aims to also bring the approximately 2 thousand PIPs stabilized at SAS from 18 and 24 hours per week up to 30 or even 36. And even in this case they shake their heads at the Economy: only 18 million are available which would be enough to increase employment by 4 hours per week.
