A new episode of music, memories and satire of La Pennicanza, which opens with Fiorello ready to launch a sensational indiscretion about Måneskin: “Yesterday I met Ethan and Thomas from Måneskin. I asked them if it was true that they will get back together and they said yes. The reunion will take place in Sanremo 2027!”. To the general amazement, the showman jokes about the band’s possible return to the Ariston.

There was also plenty of space for Italian music with a surprise video call to Giorgia, celebrated by Fiorello for her 30-year career. The showman welcomes her by singing Of sun and blue and says: “Yesterday we saw you at Fabio Fazio and we also wanted to celebrate your 30 years of career. In these years I have always been there, since the days of the Festivalbar”.

Then the confession: “I’ll tell you something I’ve never told you: at the Sanremo Festival in ’95, when they thought I was the winner, I strutted my stuff. Then the rehearsals come, you start singing and I say: I’m leaving, I’m going home!”.

The two remember the 1995 edition of the Sanremo Festival like this: “There was an extraordinary cast: Gianni Morandi, Bocelli, Mango, Ivana Spagna, even 883. Pippo Baudo had made a beautiful cast.” And Fiorello adds: “I had a lot of gel on my head. Despite the gel, you disheveled me with your voice.” Before saying goodbye he concludes: “Please, give us another 50 years of career!”.

There is also no shortage of political satire with Fiorello and Biggio commenting on a title dedicated to Minister Giuli: “The Minister has fired all his staff”, adding: “They were boring, they only talked to me about culture”.

There is also space for cinema and the Cannes Film Festival: “Among the most anticipated at Cannes this year is John Travolta, who chose to participate only after discovering that Amadeus and Fiorello were 500 km away. He will present the French film La dans du qua qua”.

This concludes the daily appointment of “La Pennicanza”, broadcast from Monday to Friday at 1.45pm on Rai Radio2, RaiPlay, on digital terrestrial channel 202 and at 7.10am, on Rai2, with La Mattinanza.
