PARMA – At the Tardini Cuesta’s Parma regained the three points, winning the very delicate survival clash against Fiorentina. The final 1-0 in favor of the Ducali bears the signature of Sorensen. On the other hand, however, Fiorentina did not follow up on their resounding success against Udinese, losing again and falling back into the abyss. Vanoli’s boys tried everything, but the tactical chaos and growing tension prevailed. In the first half, the most dangerous team was Parma, aided by Fiorentina’s overly cautious attitude. The guests, in fact, defended with a low block, then struggled on the restart to trigger Kean, too isolated in the offensive zone (the only Viola player to touch the ball in the opponent’s area in the first forty minutes): we also saw little of Gudmundsson, forced to lower himself in order to play a few balls. The first thrill of the match, therefore, comes from Parma who volleys in the 13th minute with Sorensen; in the 19th minute Ondrejka also tries, but De Gea blocks. The Swedish striker has another great chance in the 32nd minute, collecting Pellegrino’s blocked shot, but sending the ball wide.
The second half for Fiorentina started in the worst possible way with the defense slipping for the umpteenth time this season. In the 48th minute, the Crociati’s efforts were rewarded by Sorensen’s header, his first in Serie A. On Britschgi’s cross from the right, Pellegrino somehow extended the ball for the Dane who made it 1-0 from a few steps away. Vanoli tries to give a shake, inserting Piccoli and switching to the two strikers. Fiorentina revs up the engine and comes close to equalizing in the 63rd minute following a corner: Comuzzo’s powerful shot into the area is neutralized by an amazing intervention from Corvi. In the 82nd minute, however, Piccoli, alone in the area, devours the goal with his header with the ball barely coming out. In the middle the Emilians came close to scoring a knockout first with Pellegrino and then with Oristanio. The viola tries until the end, relying mostly on the strength of desperation. In the 93rd minute a super Corvi also gets his hands on Gudmundsson’s shot from outside. Parma thus redeems the tragicomic defeat in eleven against nine suffered against Lazio and rises in the standings to fourteenth place, with 17 points. Fiorentina remains last, leaving amidst boos from the visiting sector and remaining stuck at 9 points.
