Fire in a house in Nicotera: 38-year-old throws himself into the flames and takes away an elderly woman

He didn’t think about it for a moment and threw himself into the flames that had developed in a house to rescue an elderly woman who, blocked by fear, was unable to move away. The “hero for a day” is a thirty-eight-year-old who, after entering the house, picked up the woman and carried her out, saving her life. It happened this evening in the seaside hamlet of Nicotera, in the Vibonese area. The man, after realizing that the situation could become dangerous for the old woman, who was alone in the house, entered the house without the slightest hesitation, taking the woman away suffered injuries due to the fire, which developed, according to what emerged from the initial investigations, from a stove or cooker that was inadvertently left on, the firefighters then intervened and, in addition to putting out the flames, took action to take away some cylinders kept in the house which were at risk of exploding.
