Channel 12 reports that all living Israeli hostages will be released on the same day, in one fell swoop and it has been agreed that there will be no release ceremonies.
US President Donald Trump said the United States will help rebuild Gaza and keep it safe and peaceful, after Israel and Hamas agreed on the first phase of his peace plan. “We will be involved in helping them succeed and keep the peace,” Trump told Fox News hours after the deal was announced, adding that he was “very confident that there will be peace in the Middle East.”
“I believe that the hostages will return on Monday and that the bodies of the dead ones will also be there,” the US president said. Of the 251 people kidnapped in the Palestinian Islamist movement’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, 47 are still hostages in Gaza, 25 of whom are believed to have died, according to the Jewish state.
Trump announced that he intends to accept Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s invitation to speak in the Knesset, Axios reported. “They want me to give a speech to the Knesset and I will definitely do it if they want it,” Trump reportedly said, describing his telephone conversation with Netanyahu as “excellent” after the signing of the agreements between the Jewish state Hamas on the first phase of the peace plan. CNN had reported that Israel is preparing for a possible Trump visit early next week.
