It ended with an extraordinary day of sport and sharing at the ASD range of the ASD “Valle del Savuto” in Marzi, the first year of the project “Fitav adopts the school”. The initiative, promoted by the Italian Federation of Flight Shooting and dedicated to secondary school students, featured the pupils of the “Antonio Monaco” pupils of Cosenza and a representation of the IPSia -i of Acri, accompanied by a large and participatory delegation of parents. Born from an intuition of the federal technician prof. Massimo Tafuri, the project aims to bring young people closer to an Olympic discipline of great tradition for Italy such as flight shooting, in the specialty of the Olympic Fossa (Trap). The primary objective, however, goes beyond the sporting aspect, aiming to form the citizens of tomorrow through education to respect the rules, the maximum concentration and compliance with the safety rules. An added value was given by the precious collaboration with the State Police, which enriched the training course with an important contribution on the importance of compliance with legality. The initiative was made possible thanks to the support of Fitav and the forward -looking vision of the school manager of the AITI “Antonio Monaco”, Prof. Fiorangela d’Ippolito, who believed strongly in the training potential of sport. The closing manifestation saw the students challenge each other in a friendly race that rewarded the following participants: 1st classified: Cirino Vincenzo (Ipsia -i Acri)-2nd classified: Macchione Giuseppe (ITI “A. Monaco” Cosenza)-3rd classified ex aequo: D’Orrico Francesco (ITI “A. Monaco” Cosenza) and Capalbo Giulia (IPSIA-AITI acri). They also took part with great commitment for the “A. Monaco”: Cosenza Remo, Cartini Antonio and Volpentesta Simone. For the Ipsia -i Acri: Ritacco Francesco, Pancaro Matteo, Dervisci Giustino. The technical preparation of the boys was entrusted to the competence of the federal technicians, Mr. Antonio Gregorini for the School of Cosenza and Mr. Giancarlo Capalbo for the School of Acri. The role of the referent teachers, the professors Luciano Bove and Pietro Caferro for the ITI “Antonio Monaco” and the prof. Loris Manes for Acri’s ipsia -i. To make the day even more special was the warm participation of the parents, who appreciated the initiative and actively contributed to the organization of a “third time”. Thanks to the dishes offered by families, the event ended with a convivial moment that strengthened the spirit of community and friendship between all participants. The Biennial project will continue next year with the hope of involving even more students in this extraordinary experience of sporting and human growth.
