The council chamber of the Municipality of Cerisano was the scene of the official press conference to present the preview of Serre 2025 festivalnow in its 31st edition.
To preside over the table the mayor Lucio Di Gioia, flanked by representatives of the University of Calabria, in particular by prof. Francesco Valentini, director of the Physics Department, by Prof. Concetta Castiglione, delegate Desf to entry orientation and prof. Carlo Fanelli, associate professor at the Department of Humanities (Disu), active protagonists of the important training projects integrated within the Festival. The collaboration between the Municipality and the Unical is renewed and strengthens this year with the start of Summer School, Summer Camp and educational workshops intended for young people and students, scheduled between June and July.
During the conference, the rich program of summer events was illustrated, which starts on June 20 with the preview “Bella Ciao – Genesis of a myth”, a show that combines historical memory and author music. Following, numerous educational and laboratory activities, from civic education readings for children and adults, to the music ateliers for teenagers aged 10 to 16, up to the Summer School “Desf4future” of the DEF department, scheduled from 22 to 27 June.
In July, space for prestige names such as Irene Grandi, Paolo Fresu, Uri Caine, Luca Barbarossa and many other artists will animate the nights of the village, transforming Cerisano into a real open -air stage. Among the most anticipated activities also the Astro Summer Camp (13-18 July), by the Department of Physics and the University Spin-off Mission at the Cube, and the Training Week in Languages ​​of the Entertainment (21-27 July) organized by the Department of Humanities.
The mayor of Gioia stressed that the Serre Festival is part of the largest Cerisano Factory – Borgo Swing project, supported by the Ministry of Culture in the field of PNRR – Next Generation EU, and financed by the Calabria Region through the PAC funds. A project that aims to combine culture, youth participation and sustainable development, with the aim of enhancing the village as an excellent cultural and tourist center.
