An 11-year-old boy, in imminent danger of his life, was transferred from Lamezia Terme to Florence, with an Air Force F900 aircraft. The boy needed to be urgently transferred from the Lamezia Terme hospital to the Meyer University Hospital in Florence. The boy traveled inside the aircraft, monitored and assisted by a medical team and family members. This type of activity in favor of the community is one of the institutional tasks carried out by the Air Force. The life-saving flight had been activated, at the request of the Prefecture of Catanzaro, by the Air Force Summit Situation Room which immediately involved the 31st Wing, one of the departments that carries out the operational readiness service for this type of missions. Once all the necessary procedures had been carried out by the military crew, the aircraft took off from Ciampino airport, landing in Lamezia where the young man was immediately boarded on the aircraft for emergency transport. After landing at Florence Airport, which occurred after 5pm, the ambulance headed to Meyer Hospital for subsequent hospitalization.
