The city of Locri was awarded a loan of 55,500 euros falling within the public notice “Support measures for libraries and historical and private historical archives-annual 2024” of the Calabria Region, development and cohesion fund 2021-2027. The Locrese city is among the municipalities “admitted and financed” in the provisional ranking published by the Education and Equal Opportunities Department of the Calabria Region.
The project is titled “The Locri Epizefiri library. Read in the city of Zaleuco” and was approved by the junta led by the mayor Giuseppe Fontanaafter being processed by the offices of the Department of Culture and Public Education, led by the Councilor Sunday Bumbaca assisted by the councilor and majority group leader Giovanni Puro.
The idea is to enhance the catalogs and to establish new sections: over 300 volumes, divided into three new sections “Zaleuco”, “Nosside” and “Calabria”, to be inserted inside the “G. incorpora” library located inside Palazzo Nieddu.
