Over 27 million people who have chosen and will choose the train, half green par excellence, to travel during spring bridges related to the Easter holidays, April 25 and May 1st. The FS group, through the controlled companies Trenitalia, FS Italian tourist trains and Busitalia, guarantees a varied offer and in the name of sustainability.

To meet the mobility needs of this period, six more fresciarossa are active in some days that will travel between Milan, Rome and Naples, and double composition trains to double the available places. In addition, between Milan and Calabria and between Milan and Puglia, Frecciarossa Night will be available in a few days.

With the trains of the regional it is possible to reach 1,700 Italian locations, between the city of art, villages and mountains of the mountains and sea. There are also two races of Sicily Express of FS Italian tourist trains to allow residents in Sicily to return to the places of origin for the Easter holidays. The intercity night is highly appreciated, which allows you to move at night and reach your destination since early morning. The Eurocity to and from Switzerland is also good, with a significant increase in arrivals on Genoa and Bologna. Busitalia also strengthens its offer with connections to airports, cultural destinations and naturalistic locations.

The reservations for spring bridges are the cities of art, in particular Rome, thanks also to the push of the Jubilee, Naples, with the nearby palace of Caserta, Pompeii and Paestum, and Venice. For long journeys, many have decided to opt for sea destinations, such as the North and South of Puglia, Calabria and Campania. The Piedmontese, Tuscan and Umbrian villages are always appreciated, starting from Assisi, a must for pilgrims arriving in Italy. The interest in Ligurian destinations, such as the Cinque Terre, and Sicilian, such as Palermo and the Baroque area, is also great.

High speed solutions

During the Frecciarossa spring bridges, increase their connections and places available to offer an even more frequent and convenient service to their passengers. On dedicated days, along the Adriatic coast, two more connections will be activated between Milan and Pescara, as well as two connections between Bolzano and Pescara on the days of 1st, 4 and 31 May and 2 June. In addition, on the dates to the highest flow of passengers, an eight trains will stop in Riccione, for a total of 12 connections per day. On the highest request days, between April 25 and June 2, new extraordinary departures are planned for six Frecciarossa who will travel between Milan, Rome and Naples, and dual composition trains: a solution that allows you to double the places available for travelers. The night Frecciarossa also return between Milan and Calabria and between Milan and Puglia. In addition, the train+bus connections to Perugia, Assisi and Matera, can also be highly appreciated, reachable from the main Italian cities.

More and more tourists with the Intercity and Eurocity

Among the solutions preferred by travelers, in addition to the intercity trains that connect Italy daily, the intercity night is confirmed, which allows you to move at night and reach your destination since early morning. In 2024 it was chosen by 2 million passengers, 5% more than 2023, a trend that is confirmed in 2025. The Eurocity option to and from Switzerland is particularly requested, with a significant increase in arrivals on Genoa and Bologna, destinations reactivated from September 2024 with the reopening of the Gotthard tunnel in Switzerland.

Regional to discover Italy

With about 1,700 locations reached and its network that crosses all Italian regions, the regional represents the ideal choice to visit Italy. More and more people choose the regional to rediscover the pleasure of slow, sustainable and authentic journey. A simple and accessible way to move between the cities of art – such as Rome, Naples, Florence and Venice – and to be surprised by places with a unique charm such as Pompeii, the Royal Palace of Caserta and the Cinque Terre. With the Parchi Line itinerary it is possible to move among the main archaeological parks of Campania, from Herculaneum to Pompeii, up to Paestum. But the villages also conquer travelers: Cortona, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, Urbino, Fermo, Spoleto, Orvieto, Lecce, Taormina and Syracuse.

On the occasion of the spring bridges, the offer is enriched with additional connections and seasonal itineraries. In Sicily two new trains arrive between Agrigento, the Italian capital of culture 2025, and the Palermo airport “Falcone and Borsellino”. From 25 April the Taormina Line, the Baroque Line and the Cefalù Line, itineraries designed to live the territory between art, sea and culture are also returned. In Puglia the Salento Line starts again, in Lazio the Castelli Romani Line and in Tuscany the Etruscans Line and the Tuscany Line, which connect the cities of art, the hilly landscapes and the small villages rich in history.
