«In just 2 days, from 4 to 6 March, self-service diesel increased by 11.6 cents per liter in Sicily, equal to 5.80 euros more for a 50-litre tank, while self-service petrol broke through the 1.8 euro threshold in Calabria and Bolzano». This is what emerges from the study by the National Consumers Union based on regional and motorway averages calculated daily by Mimit.
The ranking of the regions that recorded the greatest increases in self-service diesel in 2 days sees Sicily in 1st place, with a jump of 11.6 cents per liter (+5.80 euros per refueling). Silver medal for Molise (+10.6 cents equivalent to 5.30 euros for a full tank), on the lowest step of the podium Campania (+10.5 cents, +5.25 euros per refueling). The most virtuous region, Umbria (+8.6 cents, +4.30 euros) although the lowest increase is for motorways: +8 cents, +4 euros for a full tank.
Motorways show the lowest price increase, also because they have the highest prices in absolute value: 1,983 euros per litre. With respect to the territory, Bolzano wins with 1,969 euros, Calabria in second place with 1,946, bronze medal for Trento with 1,943 euros. As for petrol, compared to the price published today, Calabria and Bolzano win and are the first to break through the threshold of 1.8 euros (1.801), second only to the motorway network which marks 1.854 euros. Basilicata follows with 1,792. For the ranking of the regions that have the greatest growth in self-service petrol prices, the gold medal goes to Campania and Molise which from 4 to 6 March recorded a variation of 4.4 cents per litre, 2 euros and 20 for a 50 liter tank.
“The speculation is evident, considering that at the moment there is no actual contraction in the supply of fuel,” says Massimiliano Dona, president of the National Consumers Union.
