Tense moments last night at the Dei Marmi stadium in Carrara (Massa Carrara) at the end of the match between Carrarese and Catanzaro. The awarding of a penalty to Catanzaro in injury time, which was hotly contested, sparked the wrath of the home crowd. The one who suffered the most from the consequences of the fury of the fans was the referee designer Gianluca Rocchi, present in the stands. At the final whistle Rocchi was heavily insulted and verbally attacked by some fans in the stands, but no physical contact occurred. Rocchi was then safely escorted out of the stadium by the police.
