The cut in excise duties (and VAT) on diesel drops to 12.2 cents per liter from 18 to 25 September and then from 26 September to 5 October it drops again to 6.1 cents. This is what is contained in the draft law decree for economic support and the containment of the effects deriving from the continuing increase in the cost of fuel under examination by the CDM. The provision provides that from 18 September 2026 to 25 September 2026, the excise duty will be equal to 572.90 euros per thousand liters and from 26 September to 5 October equal to 622.90 euros per thousand litres. The “standard” excise duty is equal to 672.90 per euro per thousand litres.
